  1. Since I have joined the course I have worked as an accountant in a tax firm and I now currently work in another as a Purchase ledger accounts manager.
The course has helped me develop my accounting knowledge, it has also helped me develop my technical accounting skills.
Being able to have this course on my CV has made me a strong candidate for many positions especially having work experience in 2 different companies which was provided by this training provider.

  2. When I first started with the Level 2 AAT course I was not working in a accounting related job, I worked in property management. After 6 months I got a new job working as a general accountant for a law firm and through this I have now gotten a job working within the accounts department of a property management business. The course has taught me the various accounting knowledge that is useful within my profession and my proficiency using sage, excel which helps when learning other new accounting softwares e.g proprietary legal specialised software and quickbooks.

  3. When I first enrolled onto the Level 2 AAT course I haven't been working. Being new to the accounting field, the course has helped me significantly into gaining the technical knowledge I need to become an accounts assistant. During my AAT Level 2 I had work experience for around 4-5 months at the college, I was taught about the basics of bookkeeping. Then after some time I got a job at an accounting firm as a junior accounts assistant (bookkeeping) which was provided by the training provider. I can say with confidence that studying this course at this particular college has opened doors for me and given me an insight into the industry.

  5. When I started with Level 2 AAT course, I didn’t have a job and neither did I go to uni. I decided I needed a change so I started researching and found The Training Place Of Excellence. I enrolled and now it’s helped me a lot. I didn’t have any experience whatsoever but my dedication to work made me go there and learn and now I am working in a firm that I enjoy and I’m still learning more and more daily. I can say this has helped me a lot and I can recommend this course to anyone out there looking to get involved. It’s worth it.

  6. I learned about the training place of excellence around a year ago when I was first looking into what the accounting industry had to offer. I began level 3 here last month and I believe I have developed my accounting skills and knowledge to a point where I believe I can achieve the goals I've set for myself. I have not yet had work experience in an accounting position but it is something I would be interested in as it would allow me to develop workplace skills to give me that added confidence when I begin working for a company in the future. Overall, I have enjoyed my time here so far and I look forward with excitement at what the future may hold for me. - Kyle Bishop

  13. Starting to learn accounting as a subject, it gave me the impression that it is difficult to understand and it will be challenging and I was ready for a challenge. I understand that accounting jobs are high in demand; I also understand that I am facing a lot of talented competition in the workplace and in order to distinguish myself as an accountant and attain a successful career in this field, I needed to attain relevant accounting qualifications and gain relevant work experience, hence I opted for the apprenticeship at the training place of excellence and realised that from this place I was able to get a job, experience and knowledge at the same time. I would appreciate the team for the hard work and support given to me as an individual to help me succeed well.

  16. I have joined The Training Place of Excellence shortly after finishing my first year of college with the intention of gaining skills and knowledge within the accounting industry. Since then, I have completed AAT Level 2 while being an apprentice for a company specialised in tax, given the role of a Tax Assistant. I then moved on to studying AAT Level 3 and I've also been promoted by my employer to now being a Tax Supervisor. I am grateful for all the experience and knowledge I have gained with the help of The Training Place, I believe they have really pushed me to obtain the best results in my exams as well as to remain positive about my work experience.

  18. I first heard about The Training Place through a newspaper advert when I was looking for a course. In the newspaper it said that they were having an open day for new students, so the next day I went to their premises, was interviewed, listened to a speech about the course, filled a couple of forms. The next week I started AAT Level 2 with The Training Place. As I had no prior knowledge or experience about accounting I struggled at first, but With their help and support from staff members and fellow students, I was able to progress through Level 2 and Level 3. I found it difficult to get an accounting job so I did work experience at The Training Place e.g. Posting invoices, credit notes, journal entries, correcting errors, and performing bank reconciliations on Sage Software. I eventually got a job at an accounting firm as an Accounts Assistant. Throughout my time studying at the training place, there has always been a positive learning environment, people (fellow students and staff members) are friendly and approachable. I am grateful for all the support that I have that they have given me and will always be happy to be part of the Training Place.

  19. I joined the Training Place shortly after I finished my A Levels, after a member of their staff contacted me following an application of the government’s apprenticeship website. I had no knowledge of, or experience in the accountancy field but with their support, I was able to complete AAT Level 2. The staff are very helpful and they support you every step of the way. As I progressed through the first few modules of Level 2 and Sage training, I was offered a position with themselves, a job I still do today and one which I very much enjoy. I highly recommend the Training Place to anyone looking for a career in accountancy- they get you off to the best start possible.

  24. After completing sixth form I wanted to go into studying accountancy and was given advice to go through the apprenticeship route to become a charted accountant. When I first joined The Training Place of Excellence, I started off with AAT Level 2 and now I am coming to the end of Level 3.

I did not have any background or knowledge in accounting when I first started but since I’ve joined I have gained lots of experience and knowledge from the AAT course and work experience they also offer under St Mary Accounting Services. I have also gained practical experience at a chartered accountancy firm, as an Assistant Accountant which The Training Place has helped me to find and also helped me with preparing for the interview.

The knowledge I gained from my AAT course has helped me to find a job as an assistant accountant, as one of the main task that I need to undertake at work is to work on Sage 50 which I learnt how to use within the first month at The Training Place of Excellence. As I study through the AAT course I am learning more accounting processes which enables me to take on more higher skilled tasks at my workplace. So far it has been a great experience and I am grateful for all the help and support I received during course, and l look forward to completing the rest of the AAT qualification and one day achieving my goal of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
